Things I am Thankful for...

I read an e-mail from a leadership mentor of mine recently and it was about how we forget to be thankful for all the little blessings we have in our lives. We take things for granted so much, thinking only of all the things that went wrong that we completely ignore all the good. He ended his newsletter asking everyone to write down 10 things for which you are thankful or grateful and made an example of himself with his 10.

I started to think how true it is, especially in this economy, with things being bad for almost everyone, with either loosing their jobs, loosing their homes, or suffering from a reduction of income or earnings, how easy it is to forget all the great things we still have in our lives.
Sometimes we forget to look for the good in every adversity as Napolean Hill says.

Here are my 10.

1) I am thankful for being alive.
2) I am thankful for the ability to use my 5 senses.
3) I am thankful for being healthy.
4) I am thankful for having food, shelter, clothing, loving friends and relations.
5) I am thankful for having the ability and freedom to make money.
6) I am thankful for great neighbors who helped me out with shoveling the snow and cutting down snapped branches during the last massive snow storm this February.
7) I am thankful for being able to communicate and connect with the world via the Internet.
8) I am thankful for having mentors around me, to keep me going when it gets tough.
9) I am thankful for helping other people get what they want in life, solve their problems and make a difference in their lives.
10) I am thankful for having God in my life.

I want to also share this quote from another mentor of mine.

“When we are grateful, fear disappears and Abundance appears”. Tony Robbins.

As hard as it is, if we take the time to recognize and be grateful for everything that has and is happening to us, we will see how many things we actually do have. Hence we are living in Abundance, and we don’t even know it. Do you know that this is one of the requirements for success? To act as if we are already in possession of what we want.

I want you to sit down today and write/comment below on your own 10 things you are thankful or grateful for and just before you start, read this verse again below.

Count your blessings name them one by one.
Count your blessings see what God has done.
Count your blessings name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.
